Latest Wedding Trends Unveiled on Get Married

Brides and grooms looking for the latest in wedding styles tune into “Get Married” on Lifetime TV, where they have unveiled the latest trends including Old Hollywood glam, color in wedding dresses, bridal style, green weddings, budget savvy ideas and other up to date wedding tips.

The latest in wedding trends were listed in a press release from “Get Married”, the wedding planning program and airs on Lifetime Television and on line.

Get Married is a televison program that offers tips and inspirations for brides. The show includes advice from internationally known experts in food, fashion, destinations, décor and design.

Get Married has unveiled the latest wedding trends for the bride and groom.

1. Old Hollywood Glam – Bring back what is called the “golden era” of Hollywood with the fashions that are reminiscent of the 1940′s, 1950′s and 1960′s. Bride may be inspired by the styles of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, Ginger Rogers or any of the stars they admire. Slinky gowns of satin or silk flow gracefully over feminine curves. Hair is groomed and polished looking. Embellish the wedding look with crystals and rhinestones, but not too many.

2. Color is new white. Instead of the traditional white wedding dress, the bride can wear the color of choice. Bridal gowns that are accented and embellished with the bride’s favorite color are stylish. Color can be added with a sash, bodice or along the back of the train. The entire dress can be a colorful vision. Bridesmaid dresses can match the bride’s color accents or they can contrast.

3. Destination wedding dresses. Destination wedding dresses travel along another locale. Any dress can travel to a destination, but how well an outfit travels is a wise consideration. The garb for a destination wedding can also coordinate with the ambiance of the destination. For example, a fairytale wedding dress worn with bare feet or sandals for a beach wedding.

4. Extreme hemlines add interest with variation from between short and long.

5. Green weddings are in style. Environmentally friendly is fashionable. Green ideas include using recycled paper for invitations, serving organic food and wearing a wedding gown of natural and organic fabrics.

6. Budget savvy bridal ideas keep an eye on the bottom line during these economic times. Ideas include getting married off season, a Friday night or Sunday brunch reception, cutting out the champagne toast, having a dessert table instead of a wedding cake, cutting down on lavish flower arrangements. The key is to prioritize what elements are most important to you.

7. Customized tents. Tents can be a beautiful venue for an outdoor wedding when decorated in themes that complement the wedding. Decorating ideas include draped walls, flowers, large plants and even chandeliers.

8. Small plates for food at the reception.

Get Married airs on Lifetime Television on weekday mornings at 7:30 am. The show is posted online daily.
